Whether one is a gangster, a godman, a career politician or an entertainer, the truth is that they all lust for everlasting power. And irrespective of all their social postures and what they claim, if and when their power is perceived to be threatened, they behave like brutes, as they reportedly did at the Zee awards function a couple of days ago.

You are what you do, and not that you brag you want to do. Your actions in real life reveal your real self. This ugly incident has spotlighted that when push comes to shove, self proclaimed crusaders of our time will behave like gangsters to protect their so-called self-esteem.

When will our power-drunk politicians realise that with power comes responsibility. That is why power has been given in the hands of those who are perceived to be wise. What was the need to use brute force on a matter as trivial as a seat arrangement?

Mr Bachchan has been enshrined for posterity in the Madame Tussaud museum and has the unparalleled distinction of being called Star of the Millennium and also has a temple built in his name, in Kolkata.

In the truest sense, he is the only icon that Bollywood can boast of. How can he loose his sheen if an overworked organiser bungles in giving him a seat in the front row? Don''t we know that no one in the world can insult you without your permission? To ventilate one''s rage under the pretext of protecting the dignity of one''s ''God'' has resulted in bloodshed and mayhem since the dawn of time.

I think a gangster is more decorous when he kills his opponent. This ugly incident has revealed to us the tolerance level that our leaders possess. Are these the people who we are going to choose to preside over our destinies in the forthcoming elections? Get this, and get this straight, if power is given into the hands of people who do not have compassion, then we are certainly sowing the seeds of destruction.

<formid=367815></formid=367815>
